Dr. Maryanne Garry

Professor, University of Waikato, New Zealand

Dr. Maryanne Connell-Covello Garry is an educational psychology academic from New Zealand. After completing her PhD studies titled 'Susceptibility to memory distortions as a function of skill' at the University of Connecticut, USA, she held a position at Victoria University of Wellington. She, then, moved to the University of Waikato. As of mid-2018, she is a full professor at the University of Waikato. Garry is a fellow of the Association for Psychological Science, an honor granted for "sustained outstanding contributions to the science of psychology in the areas of research, teaching, service and/or application". Today, Prof. Garry’s research and teaching work continue to bring important inspiration and contributions to the field of psychology.

Dr. Seng Chee Tan

Associate Professor, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore

Dr. Seng Chee Tan is an Associate Professor with the Learning Sciences and Assessment academic group. He obtained his BSc (Hons) from the National University of Singapore in 1989 under the sponsorship of PSC Local Merit Scholarship. He completed his Master in Education from the National Institute of Education in 1997, and obtained his Ph.D. (Instructional Systems) from the Pennsylvania State University in 2000 under the NTU Overseas Graduate Scholarship. As an active researcher in the field of educational technology for schools, he has published more than 55 refereed journal articles, more than 50 papers in conference proceedings, co-authored and co-edited 4 books. He also contributed as an editorial board member for many international refereed academic journals, and acted as a regular reviewer for journals. He has held various leadership positions in the past, including an assistant director at the Ministry of Education, Head of Learning Sciences and Technologies, Associate Dean of the Foundation Program Office, Associate Dean of the Office of Graduate Studies and Professional Learning, Associate Dean of the Director’s Office and Acting co-director of Centre for Research and Development in Learning. Prof. Tan has established a reputation for excellence in the field of educational technology through his extensive academic and leadership experience.

Dr. Hsiu-Ping Yueh

Distinguished Professor, National Taiwan University, Taiwan

Distinguished Professor Hsiu-Ping Yueh is currently teaching at National Taiwan University, and obtained her PhD in Educational Technology from Pennsylvania State University, USA. Her research interests are mainly in applying cognitive and learning science to technology development and application, and examining the role of psychology in learning, communication and human interaction. She established the Educational Technology Group at National Taiwan University, assisted in the construction of the Teaching Development Center, and has been involved in teaching and research work, such as higher education digital learning, teacher professional development, and agricultural marketing communication, for many years. She used to hold various leadership positions at National Taiwan University, including the Vice Provost, Director of the Teaching Development Center, and Leader of the Teaching Research Group of the Financial Planning Center. In addition to developing various learning technologies and multimedia teaching materials, her recent research focuses on age technologies, human-computer interaction, the impact of robots on human life, assisted interaction process, behavior design, usage experience and effectiveness.
